    My Daily Go-To

Doublestar has become part of my daily routine. Always smooth, always tastes great, never lets me down. It’s the one coffee I keep reaching for without thinking about it. Just super reliable and easy to drink.

    Surprisingly robust

I purchased the coffee as a novelty. I was really surprised by the potency of the cup of coffee yielded, even with the milder roasting. There were a lot of flavor dimensions...more so than what I encounter with my every-day Peet's, more than Phil's. My previous standard was Blue Bottle, but BigFace is a cut above (reflected in the price point I suppose).

    solid coffee

One of my first times splurging on expensive coffee, but it is totally worth the price. Smooth and flavorful.

Coffee FAQ

Q: What does “specialty coffee” mean?

Specialty coffee is carefully evaluated for quality, traceability, and flavor—from cultivation and processing through roasting and brewing.

Q: Where does BIGFACE source its coffees from?

We source distinctive coffees from exceptional producers and regions around the world, selecting each release for clarity, sweetness, and character.

Q: Why do tasting notes mention fruit, flowers, or chocolate?

Those notes describe flavors and aromas naturally present in the coffee. Nothing is added; they are reference points for what you may experience in the cup.

Q: How should I store my coffee?

Keep the bag sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct light, heat, moisture, and strong odors. Grind only what you plan to brew.

Q: Is specialty coffee worth the higher price?

The price reflects careful sourcing, producer expertise, quality-focused processing, and small-batch roasting—all of which show up in the final cup.

COFFEE FAQ

Specialty coffee is scored 80 points or higher on a 100-point scale by certified graders. In practice, it means coffee that’s carefully cultivated, harvested at peak ripeness, and processed with precision. For BIGFACE, specialty means clarity, complexity, and the kind of character you can only taste when every detail is dialed in.

We work with trusted farmers and export partners in origin countries like Colombia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. Every release is tied to a specific farm, estate, or microlot, so you always know where it was grown, who produced it, and how it was processed.

Those flavors are naturally present in coffee. Coffee shares hundreds of the same aromatic compounds found in fruits, flowers, and spices. When you see tasting notes like grapefruit, honey, or cacao, it’s describing what the coffee expresses naturally, nothing added, just unlocked through roast and brew.

BIGFACE coffees are marked with a Best By date, we recommend enjoying them before then for peak flavor. Store your coffee sealed in its BIGFACE bag or in an airtight container at room temperature, away from heat, light, and humidity. The coffee will remain safe to drink past the Best By date, but flavor and aromatics are at their best when enjoyed before that point.

Yes. Specialty pricing reflects the investment at origin. Hand-picking cherries, extended fermentations, and careful drying all require time and labor. Paying more means better quality in the cup and better wages for producers. It’s about excellence and fairness throughout the supply chain.
